About company KPHI - Kazakovskaya filigree
One of the oldest types of artistic metalworking is the Scagna (derived from the Old Russian “skat” - svivat), or, as this type of jewelry technique is also called filigree.
Filigree comes from the Italian filigrana, which in turn comes from the Latin filum - thread, and granum - grain, which means grain and thread, because the pattern is made not only from twisted wire, but also using the smallest metal balls.
In Russia, the filigree has long been known - filigree products are found in the excavations of mounds of the 9th century. Modern decorative art inherits and develops the richest traditions of the past.
The center of scan production is located in the village of Kazakovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, located near the working village of Vacha.
In 1927, founded the metal craft. In 1939, twelve artel women of the Kazakovskaya metal artel, under the direction of O. I. Tarakanova, assembled their first filigree holder for a glass.
Making a filigree product begins with the artist performing the picture on paper, which is based on the harmony of a combination of embossed twisted wire, forming the basis of a future product against the background of the smallest curls made of thinner wire and filling the space between the main parts.
Then the filigree pattern is typed with tweezers of smooth or twisted copper wire and glued to a pattern on paper, thus obtaining a scanned ornament: through, lace, mesh. To fasten the details of a filigree product into a fragment, the sculpted ornament is sprinkled with silver solder and soldered. Paper and glue burn out, and openwork curls are soldered together, forming a strong patterned lace.
Further processing - silver plated anode silver 999.9. To give the color of antique silver oxide film is applied.
Products are made only by hand.
